GOLDEN GLOBES 2018: RED CARPET, BLACK DRESSES
It’s no secret that we ALWAYS enjoy a red carpet event, and the Golden Globes is amongst our favourites. Usually a vibrant ceremony where some of the most celebrated celebrities of the moment have fun seeing who can stand out the most on the red carpet, this year the Golden Globes took a serious twist.
Unless you’ve been living on a desert island with no wifi (wait... what?), you will most likely be aware of the disputes of sexual allegations, gender inequality, assault, and equal pay that have gone on for so many years. Now more than ever, women are bravely speaking out about their experiences, so it doesn’t take a staunch feminist to understand why the #TimesUp movement has kicked in.
We have been delighted not only by the sense of unity on the red carpet, but by the a striking display of black dresses - some poignantly conservative whilst others defiantly feminine. But whilst the styles were delightful, the stand taken was even more beautiful.
Here are some of the red carpet dresses that really stood out for us, from flaired to fitted, high and low necklines alike with an array of different fabrics and finishes.
